Spend 2 nights discovering the delights of the charming city of Adelaide. Your stay in Adelaide will include a private tour with Tourabout Adelaide.
Followed by 3 magnificent nights at stunning Southern Ocean Lodge, on Kangaroo Island - Australia's answer to the Galapogas.
Day 1 - Hyatt Regency Adelaide
The Hyatt Regency Adelaide Hotel is situated in one of the city’s finest locations, on the picturesque River Torrens. This Adelaide hotel forms an integral part of Adelaide’s spectacular new Riverbank promenade and is adjacent to the Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide casino and the Festival Centre.
Today you are able to explore Adelaide at your own leisure. The history and art of South Australia is on
display along Adelaide's cultural boulevard, North Terrace. You can venture into the state's
library, museum, art gallery and migration museum which have pride of place and are the
first stop on your cultural experience of South Australia. On the eastern end of North Terrace,
you will find the Adelaide Botanic Garden. The magnificent Bicentennial Conservatory houses
a tropical rainforest and is the largest glasshouse in the Southern Hemisphere.
Day 2 - Barossa Valley private touring
This morning you will be collected by your private guide from Tourabout Adelaide to the Barossa Valley.
The Barossa Valley is Australia’s best known and most historic wine region. The region produces some of the country’s finest wines, with names such as Rockford, Penfolds, Seppelt, Yalumba, and Peter Lehmann all based in the Barossa.
Your tour may include:
• Make your own blend tour, the opportunity to be a winemaker for the day!
• Lunch at Vintner’s Bar & Grill, a Barossa dining institution with a superb menu of local produce paired with a glass of premium local wine
• A visit to Peter Lehmann Wines will include a private tasting of their premium whites and reds
• A stop at Maggie Beers Farmshop – one of Australia’s most famous chefs
• Tastings at other famous Barossa wineries such as Yalumba, Rockfords, Kabminye, Torbreck, or Gibsons.
Day 3 - Southern Ocean Lodge
This morning connect with your scheduled flight to Kangaroo Island from Adelaide. Upon arrival at the Kingscote Airport, you will be transferred to the impressive Southern Ocean Lodge.
Set back from a cliff above the pounding surf the sensitive design showcases a full frontal
panorama and is within easy reach of all of the island's major attractions. Modern luxury and
design integrity meld with Kangaroo Island vernacular and an amazing coastal colour palette,
creating a unique style. Its location, stunning views, contemporary environmental design, locally sourced food, interpretative activities and modern wellness spa ensures its luxury status.
Day 4 - 5 - Southern Ocean Lodge activities
There are a selection of included activties to choose from over the next 2 days. Explore the property and the surounding area with the Southern Ocean Lodge naturalist staff, or perhaps experience the Spa.
Situated high on a dramatic cliff top, Southern Ocean Lodge Spa Retreat is a private oasis of calm. A signature spa menu offers a range of traditional and cutting edge treatments. A steam room, chill out lounge and spa cuisine program complement an international spa design showcase. Combined with the cleanest air from Antarctica highly oxygenised from the pounding surf, the spa provides a pure natural environment in which to rejuvenate and relax.
Or perhaps join a private a four-wheel drive tour with Exceptional Kangaroo Island. Travel in comfort while visiting traditional destinations and remote places only a local can show you. Drive down endless red dirt roads, as your guide spins yarns about shipwrecks, lighthouses and fridges being turned into mailboxes. Watch adult sea lions snooze only metres away and pups play in the surf. Walk through a Red gum forest at Cygnet River, smell the Eucalyptus and seek out koalas sleeping in the forks of trees.
Break for lunch and enjoy a crisp South Australian wine as your Guide cooks lunch. Visit D'Estrees Bay where ospreys' nest and kangaroos come out to graze. Stand on a cliff top watching waves crashing onto rocks - the first land they have encountered all the way from the Antarctica.
Day 6 - Depart Southern Ocean Lodge
Sadly you return to Kingscote Airport to board your flight to Adelaide. Here you will connect with your onward arrangements.
